Tuesday Evening

Larry was able to have a restful day today. He is still sedated with the heart pump in and this has allowed his heart to rest. He hasn't had any more arrhythmias today. We are so thankful that he was able to have a better day. Getting him stabilized was the first step toward progress. They continue to reassure us that there are several options in case the arrhythmias would return. Hopefully will all have a more restful night on today's news.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support, thoughts and prayers.

  1. Peggy continues to think about you, send healing thoughts, and pray for your recovery. She says Larry still has lots of books to read and places to go. She checks in occasionally to get an update.

    Rich and Janna also checked in and send their best.

    Nate and Jay are taking good care of Nola during the storms.

  2. Larry,
    I'm glad you had a better day today and we all know it is one day at a time!!! Very very hot and muggy today - had a wind storm blow through about 5:00, so SW Cedar Rapids has lots of power outages, so far we're fine! Sounds like you're getting the rest you need to help with healing.

  4. Anyone who can survive pack stew has to be as tough as boiled owl. Keep it up; you are showing all of us a lot of grit.

  5. Larry;
    I played golf Tuesday afternoon with my Men's League ... in 98 degrees (114 heat index). Also had a few "Brewskis" on the 19th hole (to cool off)! If I can do this a few years after quadruple bypass surgery, then it should show that things eventually get back to "normal". Thank god for good surgeons, hospital staff, exercise therapy people, and support from great friends & family.
    Hang in there,Larry ... and before you know it, this will all just be in your memory bank (some bad, but some good, as well). Hoping your recovery goes as well as mine did.

  6. You picked a good day to rest, it's really too muggy to do much outside anyway.
